Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJ BIC) is a globally recognized ESG index in which companies are selected based on comprehensive evaluations in governance, economy, environment, and society through Corporate Sustainability Assessments (CSA) conducted by S&P Global. Among the DJ BIC constituents, companies that are among the top 2,500 in global market capitalization and have CSA scores in the top 10% are selected for the World Index. In the 2025 CSA, Seven & i Holdings was selected for the World Index for the third consecutive year. It was also selected for the Asia/Pacific Index for 17th consecutive years. In the 2025 CSA, 317 companies worldwide (including 35 Japanese companies) were selected for the World Index, and in the Food & Staples Retailing, we are the only Japanese company selected.
We continue to respond to the CSA, with the response to the 2025 CSA being the 20th overall. (As of May 2026)

Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.

The MSCI ESG Rating is a measure that evaluates a company's management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities. Japanese companies with excellent MSCI ESG Rating scores are selected for the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index.

The iSTOXX® MUTB Japan Platinum Career 150 Index is an ESG index focusing on "human capital" jointly developed by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation and STOXX, an index provider affiliated with Deutsche Borse. The index consists of 150 companies that are proactive in building employee careers from the three viewpoints of "long-term perspective," "autonomous learning," and "contribution to society," using the evaluation items for "Platinum Career" companies in the Toyo Keizai Inc. Seven & i Holdings was selected as one of the constituents.

In alignment with the principles of TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures), Seven & i Holdings joined the TNFD Forum in January 2023. In March 2024, Seven & i Holdings registered as TNFD Adopters and are advancing our analysis and disclosure based on the TNFD framework.

To achieve the CO₂ emission reduction target set forth as one of the priority themes of the Environmental Declaration "GREEN CHALLENGE 2050", Seven & i Holdings is participating in the international initiative "RE100", which aims to make the electricity used in business activities 100% renewable energy. In addition, this participation is supported by the Japan Climate Leaders' Partnership (JCLP), a corporate group aiming to realize a sustainable decarbonized society.
