Social Media Terms of Use

These Terms (hereinafter the “Terms”) provide the rules for using official accounts and webpages (hereinafter the “Service”) that Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd., (hereinafter the “Company”) operates on social media.

Article 1 About the Terms

  1. 1These Terms apply to any visits and use of the Service. When using the Service, a user shall be deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
  2. 2The Company may revise these Terms without advance notice so please check the latest version. Any revised Terms shall take effect when published on the Company’s website.

Article 2 Official Social Media Accounts

You can check the official social media accounts operated by the Company on the page for the Official Account List.

Article 3 Intellectual Property Rights

  1. 1All copyrights and other intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and rights to know-how) of the information presented on the Service shall be vested in the Company or persons who have the right to it.
  2. 2When a user posts information or other content (replies, comments, etc.) on the Service, the user shall be deemed to have granted the Company a worldwide, nonexclusive, sublicensable and transferable right, free of charge, to use such information or content in any form (including reproduction, editing, alteration, excerption, public transmission, publication, and translation) and shall not exercise the author’s or any other moral rights against the Company regarding the information or content.
  3. 3A user shall not use any information or content provided through the Service without the permission of the rights holder.
  4. 4If any issue arises between a user and the rights holder or any other third party in violation of these Terms, the user shall settle the issue at his/her own responsibility and expense.

Article 4 Prohibitions

  1. 1In using the Service, a user shall not engage in any of the following acts:
    1. 1An act that infringes or is likely to infringe trademark rights, copyrights, privacy, intellectual property rights, or any other rights or interests of users, third parties, the Company, or partner companies of the Company to whom its business is outsourced (hereinafter “Partner Companies”), or any other persons
    2. 2An act that slanders, libels, criticizes, insults, annoys, or causes a nuisance, disadvantage, or damage to specific individuals or corporations, including other users, third parties, the Company or Partner Companies, or their officers or employees, or an act that has the potential to do so
    3. 3An act that is contrary or is likely to be contrary to public order and morals, or violates or is likely to violate laws, regulations, or ordinances
    4. 4An act that is required by public agencies or organs to be removed on legal grounds
    5. 5An act of reporting false information to use the Service
    6. 6An act of illegally using the email addresses, names, corporate names, other personal information, or the like of other users, third parties, the Company or Partner Companies, etc.
    7. 7An act aimed at sales, profits, solicitations, expression of ideological beliefs, etc., or PR with the use of the Service or an act made in preparation for any of them
    8. 8An act of impersonating third parties, including the Company
    9. 9An act of establishing a link in such a way that impairs the clarity of the content provided by the Service
    10. 10An act aimed at advertising, promotion, or the like
    11. 11An act prohibited by the company operating the social media
    12. 12An act in violation of the Public Offices Election Act
    13. 13An act in violation of these Terms
    14. 14Any other act that may hinder the operation of the Service or interfere with the provision of the Service
  2. 2If the Company determines, in its reasonable judgment, that a user is in violation of the preceding paragraph, the Company may block the user’s account or take other measures to preclude the user from using the Service.

Article 5 Handling of Posted Content

  1. 1If the Company determines that a comment from a user (including replies, responses, and posts; the same applies hereafter) violates any prohibition under Article 4, the Company may hide, delete, or reject all or part of the comment, block the user’s account, or take other similar measures at its discretion without notice to the user. The Company shall not respond to any questions regarding such measures.
  2. 2The Company has no obligation to follow all users who follow the Service. The Company may follow any users who do not follow the Service.
  3. 3The Company has no obligation to respond to all posts and comments that users have given to the Company on the Service (including likes and replies).

Article 6 Change and Discontinuation of Service

Without advance notice to users, the Company may make any change, addition, suspension, discontinuation, etc. regarding any content on the Service (hereinafter “Discontinuation”). The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any disadvantage or damage caused to users owing to Discontinuation.

Article 7 Disclaimer

  1. 1All information presented on the Service is current information at the time of publication, and the Company may change or delete names, content, or the like regarding any information presented on the Service without advance notice. When such presented information no longer matches the realities due to the passage of time, or when there is any addition, change, or deletion of the service content, the Company shall in no way be responsible for any disadvantage or damage caused to users.
  2. 2The Company shall take meticulous care when posting information on the Service. However, the Company makes no guarantee whatsoever as to the accuracy, currency, usefulness, or any other matter concerning the presented information. In this case, the Company shall in no way be responsible for any disadvantage or damage caused by inaccurate or inappropriate descriptions or other reasons.
  3. 3Any content or services provided on any websites outside the Company’s official accounts that are linked from or to the Service are managed and operated by the respective third parties, and the Company shall in no way be responsible for any damage caused to users using them. When using them, a user will check the terms of service for such websites.
  4. 4If a user causes any damage to another user or a third party as a result of or incidental to the use of the Service, the user shall settle it at his/her own responsibility and expense, and the Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever.

Article 8 Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan, and unless otherwise prescribed, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over all disputes related to the Service.
