Nowadays, as the number of nuclear families is increasing and the birth rate is declining, opportunities to ask about raising children are decreasing. Akachan Honpo’s Maternity Advisors are continuing to listen carefully to the concerns of our customers about pregnancy, giving birth and raising children to achieve a society in which diverse people can actively participate. The environment in which each mother gives birth to and raises her child differs. That means the anxieties and doubts felt by our customers at those times are different. Therefore, we understand each individual customer and then make the suggestions and provide the support they really need. We spoke here with Ami Kobayashi who is a Maternity Advisor working hard every day to fulfill that mission.

Maternity Advisors are customer service specialists who have been certified through an in-house examination. We are able to explain to customers about all products relating to childbirth preparations.
When I was in charge of a sales area previously, I had the experience of giving information on products I was asked about by our customers without thinking whether they suited them and failing to introduce them to the products they truly needed. I still now remember the frustration at that time of not being able to properly explain to our customers about what they needed. I would like to find out what our customers are seeking by talking to them. I want to help them have the happiest shopping experience. Those hopes led me to deciding to become a Maternity Advisor.

Since becoming a Maternity Advisor, I have had numerous happy experiences. I have met those who requested me because the baby sling only I recommended to them was a perfect fit. I have also had customers who I previously served say to me that, although giving birth was really difficult, I supported them.

Being able to see the light at the end of
the tunnel.
That is the customer service I want to provide.

I always endeavor when serving customers to carefully listen to the situation in which they are and will be raising their children. What would happen if you used this product in that situation? Do you need this function in that situation? Asking questions like this, I talk with our customers so that they can imagine life with their baby while choosing products. I also pay awareness to flexibly understanding the meaning of what our customers say and to accurately conveying the intent of my words.

Giving birth and raising children are accompanied by anxieties and doubts. It is for that reason I want to continue serving our customers so that they can see the light at the end of the tunnel by listening carefully to their concerns as individuals and talking to them in detail.
