We are conducting a demonstration experiment for the collection of used plastic containers* at our Ito-Yokado Yokohama Bessho store as a cross-industry initiative with 12 companies which have a stake in R Plus Japan Ltd. from September 8 to December 6, 2023.
*We can collect potato chip and other confectionary bags and bottles of cooking oil and seasonings labelled as plastic regardless of the manufacturer.
We invited children from Kamiooka Rabbit Nursery School to our Ito-Yokado Yokohama Bessho store on September 14 to experience actually putting containers labelled as plastic into the special recycling box.
If we can put chemical recycling to use on a commercial basis, it will promote the circulation of plastic resources which were previously difficult to recycle. It will also contribute to the global environment. Ito-Yokado handles a variety of merchandise which use plastic in their container. Therefore, we are involved in initiatives to be able to contribute to the circulation of plastic resources so that we can increase the number of stores where we collect plastic containers and the items we collect in the future.
