The First Electric Money in The Retail Industry, “Nanaco”

Based on the group’s ability to bring in about 14 million customers (domestic) per day and covering the retail services from sales to sales transactions, business for the first electric money in the retail industry, “nanaco” that is Seven & i Holdings’ own electric money, was launched in April 2007. In the future, available stores will be expanded within/outside the group, and they will respond to needs for transactions of small amounts.

“Seven Premium” Jointly Developed in The Group

Our own brand, “Seven Premium” that refurbishes the image of the traditional private brand, has been developed by unifying the group for the improvement of the brand value of Seven & i Holdings, and the first product was released for sale in May 2007. The product line will be enhanced by sharing know-how/technology, such as product development, material procurement, production control, and quality control, which have been acquired by each group company.

Establishment of Seven & i Food Systems Co., Ltd.

In January 2007, Seven & i Food Systems was established, and the three companies of Denny’s, Famil, and York Bussan, which work on food service business such as restaurants, school catering, and fast food stores, have been made as subsidiaries, in order to promote the sharing of know-how of menu development and to integrate the purchasing and managing departments. In addition, the services will be enhanced and the business efficiency will be increased by promoting a reorganization of the business system.

Integrated Services of Department Business

Three brands of “Sogo”, “Seibu Department Store”, and “Robinson Department store” independently promote community-based business, as well as sharing main strategies relating to products, tenants, and clients, and exchanging human resources. We are also strengthening business operations by integrating the Purchasing Division of Robinson Department store into Millennium Retailing to unify conditions of purchasing and tenancy contracts.

Establishment of Seven Cash Works Co., Ltd.

In order to respond to the needs related to operating cash (change) for medium and small retail stores/restaurant service business operators, Seven Cash Works, Co., Ltd. was established in June 2007. The company will provide new financial services, using change delivery services and its own change exchange machine, following sequentially next fall.

In May 2007, “Seven Premium”, the products jointly developed in the group, were released for sales in Ito Yokado, York Benimaru, York Mart, and Shell Garden.

In January 2007, Seven & i Food Systems was established to integrate/reorganize the food service business. In March, the three companies of Denny’s, Famil, and York Bussan were made into wholly owned subsidiaries.
